Horse Euthanized After Being Hit by Car in RHE

The Daily Breeze reports the horse was struck on Saturday after throwing its rider.

A runaway horse was struck Saturday by a car on Hawthorne Boulevard in Rolling Hills Estates and was later euthanized, the Daily Breeze reported Monday.

The horse ran into traffic about 2:25 p.m. after it threw its rider while on a bridle path on Palos Verdes Drive North. The horse was hit by a 1998 Toyota Camry as it ran onto Hawthorne Boulevard, the Daily Breeze reported.

The horse rider and driver of the car were unhurt.
