Holiday DUI Enforcement Set for PVE

A DUI crackdown throughout the county continues this week.

DUI checkpoints are planned for the South Bay, including Palos Verdes Estates, as part of a holiday season sweep by law enforcement.

Patrols and checkpoints, which launched Friday in Los Angeles County as part of the Avoid campaign, resulted in at least 598 arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence between early Friday and late Sunday, the county Sheriff’s Department reported Monday.

Last year, 510 arrests were made during the same three-day period across the county, according to the department.
