UPDATE: No Charges Filed in Rolling Hills Burglaries

The story below was originally published Dec. 24, 2013.

Authorities have arrested four Gardena men accused of committing two residential burglaries in Rolling Hills.

Arrested were Roberto Rocio, Juan Torres, Francisco Bustos and Jesus Salas, all on suspicion of burglary. All four men are being held at the Lomita Sheriff's Station Jail, with bail set at $50,000.

All four men were arrested Dec. 23 after a vigilant resident reported a suspicious person in a canyon adjacent to a home on Crest Road East. Deputies arrived and detained the man and upon searching the canyon, found jewelry strewn about the field, Lomita Sheriff's Station deputies said in a press release.

The jewelry appeared to have been thrown in a hurry, due to the wide pattern the alleged stolen goods were scattered, deputies said.

Detectives located a victim of one of the residential burglaries who then identified all of the found jewelry as belonging to them., deputies said.

A bloodhound assisted deputies in tracking down the remaining suspects. The deputies found evidence linking the men to both residential burglaries, deputies said.

All four men are due in Torrance Court Dec. 26.
