A man who reportedly formerly worked as a security guard in Rolling Hills has been charged with sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl in 2005, the Daily Breeze reported Tuesday.
Redondo Beach resident Corey Delaine Stewart, 40, is accused of inviting the runaway girl, who was working as a prostitute in Los Angeles, into his car and raping her, Deputy District Attorney Lisa Houle told the Breeze. The victim now lives in Long Beach. She contacted police when she saw news of Stewart's arrest on television.
The assault mirrors the one reported in Gardena. That victim, who said she met Stewart on Tagged.com, told police that he raped her at gunpoint in his car.
Stewart was arrested at the end of February after investigators identified him as a suspect through DNA analysis.
The Breeze reported that Stewart has ties to the Long Beach area. Gardena police believe there may be more victims.
Anyone with information about this rape or others like it is asked to contact Detective Michael Ross with the Gardena Police Department at 310-217-9635.
