Fishing Boat and 200 Pounds of Pot Discovered Near Point Vicente

Someone spotted the boat Friday and federal agents are still investigating.

Federal officials investigated the discovery of a swamped Mexican fishing boat and about 200 pounds of pot on a Rancho Palos Verdes beach near Terranea Resort Saturday.

The boat was spotted, along with 18 fuel canisters and several yellow stickers, by someone Friday morning in a cove just south of Point Vicente. No one associated with the boat was found.

Authorities towed the boat to Marina del Rey to examine it for evidence.

On May 13, another 25-foot panga was found abandoned at Bluff Cove in Palos Verdes Estates.
