Brush Fire Burns Nearly 2 Acres

The fire broke out late Saturday afternoon and was extinguished by the L.A. County Fire Department by early evening.

A brush fire broke out Saturday afternoon in the area of Bronco and Martingale Drive in the George F. Canyon. No homes or buildings were damaged and no roads were closed.

The fire burned less than two acres of brush and was extinguished by L.A. County Fire officials Saturday evening. No evacuations were required, according to the City of Rancho Palos Verdes.

The city first issued an e-mail warning to residents about 6:30 p.m. warning of a fire in the area of Bronco and Chaparral Lane in the George F. Canyon. It cautioned use of Palos Verdes Drive East between Bronco and Miraleste Plaza.

The city's final e-mail came about 7 p.m., alerting residents the fire had been extinguished.
