Body Found Near Missing RPV Man's Discovered Car
Police believe the body is that of Yoshiya Watanabe, 57.
A body was found near the spot where a missing Rancho Palos Verdes man abandoned his son's Mercedes-Benz sedan in the Scholl Canyon area near Glendale, police said.
Though police believe the body is that of Yoshiya Watanabe, 57, the coroner's office will make the final determination, a Glendale police official said.
Police searched near Valle Vista Mountainway in terrain between Glendale and Pasadena.

Watanabe, who had last been seen the morning of Feb. 3, apparently drove off in his son's car last week and never returned, Glendale police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.
Dogs were used to find the man. The car was discovered on Sunday.

Glendale police do not suspect foul play.
"This appears to be a very unfortunate and tragic situation," Lorenz said.
