Beresford-Redman Murder Case Featured on '48 Hours'

The former Palos Verdes resident and television producer is standing trial in Mexico for the alleged murder of his wife.

The Mexican murder case involving television producer and former Rancho Palos Verdes resident Bruce Beresford-Redman was featured last week on the CBS television show 48 Hours.

Beresford-Redman was accused of killing his wife, Monica, while on vacation in Cancun in 2010. While authorities said he killed his wife in their hotel room, Beresford-Redman maintained his wife left the hotel and never returned, 48 Hours reported.

As Mexican authorities built a case against him, Beresford-Redman was arrested seven months later and held at the federal detention center in Los Angeles, reported 48 Hours.

According to the show, a year later, Beresford-Redman was extradited back to Mexico to stand trial for murder.

48 Hours interviewed Beresford-Redman inside the Mexican jail he currently calls home. On the show, Beresford-Redman maintained his innocence and said he could face up to 30 years in a Mexican prison if he is convicted.

We arrived at the Grand, right beside Nizuc where they were staying, on Thursday. We talked with the General Manager and other people who were trying to upsell us on our time -share and heard all about him being kept in the office before the police took him away and his face, neck and head were covered with nail scratches. During our stay we heard horrible stories from guests, security guards and waiters about how he had mistreated the children and wife around the pool and one male guest interrupted and told him to leave his family alone and was ready to punch the idiot out. A security guard told us he was at the pool we always go to and was about to punch the wife when he said he would call the police and he pulled her back to the room. No idea where the children were but they were not with the two of them. I hope the bleeding hearts do not let this sociopath off. He now has the last pull he can do from CBS trying to make a case for him, because he is going to be found guilty. The guy is a monster.

Correction without proper evidence WHICH THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT DOES NOT HAVE !, they cannot keep a man in jail for the substancial time limit they kept bruce. This man is innocent and just because you wanna believe everything you hear doesnt mean you should seek the truth. GROW UP and stop trying to spread the rumors farther then needed. I personally feel that this JUDY person needs to be put in his shoes in order to fully understand. I am studying Criminal Justice and i know for a fact that they have no evidence tying him to his poor wifes murder all they have is the rumors i would be looking at the employees of the hotel especially the guy who tried to rape another guest.
