Apparent Catalina Brush Fire Draws Responders to RPV City Hall

Los Angeles County Fire Department officials are using the Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall helipad to respond to a small brush fire on Catalina Island.

Los Angeles County Fire Department officials this morning gathered at Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall to stage a response to an apparent brush fire on Catalina Island.

Several fire engines were gathered at Thursday morning to respond to the fire, Rancho Palos Verdes officials said.

The city warned in a statement that residents might hear siren and helicopter noise near the City Hall grounds as fire officials use the building's helipad to respond to the brush fire. Despite the LAFD gathering, visitors shouldn't expect much impact to the facility or parking lot, officials said.
