About 530 people were arrested in Los Angeles County for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs between 12:01 a.m. on Friday and midnight on Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

More than 1,100 across the state were arrested for DUI during the same period, according to the California Highway Patrol, which reported 15 fatalities in California.

The arrests in Los Angeles County were made during the "Avoid the 100 Los Angeles County DUI Campaign," during which officers representing 100 law enforcement agencies made arrests.

Impaired driving statistic data will be collected through midnight Monday, officials said. Some agencies have yet to report DUI arrests, according to the department.
