UPDATED: After-Fire Mop-up Closes Indian Peak Road in Rolling Hills Estates

Deputies from the Lomita Station responded along with personnel from Los Angeles County Fire Department.

UPDATE at 12:16 p.m.: The fire on Indian Peak has been knocked down. The public will see Fire Dept. units (camp crews, etc.) on scene for approximately another hour mopping up and making sure the fire does not reignite, according to the city of Rancho Palos Verdes.

This morning around 9:30 a.m. we received reports of a fire in the area of Indian Peak Road in Rolling Hills Estates. Deputies from Lomita Station responded along with personnel from Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire is considered knocked down at this point and LA County Fire will remain on scene in order to conduct a mop up operation. As a result of this operation, Indian Peak Road will be closed between Crenshaw Boulevard and Norris Center Drive to allow the staging of fire equipment.

The reported fire is about 2 acres in size. So far, the Fire Department has prevent it from spreading any further. Fire Dept. helicopters are using the helipad and hydrant at City Hall for water drops.
