The 17-year-old girl is now safe at home.

A 17-year-old girl who walked away from her home in Rancho Palos Verdes on Saturday evening was found Sunday morning, according to a message from the city of Rancho Palos Verdes.

The girl, whose name and photo were never released, was found unharmed at about 8 a.m., authorities said. She is now safe at home with her family.

"We wish to thank the community for all of your support to the family and assistance in the attempts to locate the missing person," RPV city staff said in the message.

Deputies had been searching for the teen since 6 p.m. Saturday, according to the message. Sgt. Mark Moffett of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station told Patch on Saturday night that deputies had brought in a helicopter to help the search Saturday, and were considering using one again Sunday.

"We may see if we can get maybe a bloodhound to do some tracking (on Sunday)," Moffett said.
