RPV Resident Honored for Heroic Act

A Rancho Palos Verdes resident is honored at a Courageous Citizen Awards event Wednesday.

Rancho Palos Verdes resident Mitchell Emerson was honored Wednesday for helping to catch a residential burglar who was eventually sentenced to six years in prison, according to a Daily Breeze report.

The 48-year-old El Segundo firefighter was recognized, along with residents from San Pedro, Harbor City and Hawthorne, at the Courageous Citizen Awards luncheon at the Crowne Plaza Los Angeles International Airport Hotel, according to the report.

The event was presented by the District Attorney's Office.
