Memorial Gymkhana Scheduled for Local Teen Killed in Crash

The riding event will honor former Peninsula High student Annamay Naef, who was killed last year in a car crash.

The Palos Verdes community will gather this weekend at a memorial gymkhana to remember Annamay Naef, a local teen killed last year in a car crash.

student Naef, 16, died in an early morning crash Oct. 5 in Rolling Hills Estates. Naef was a passenger in a car driven by another Peninsula High student when the car hit a pole as they headed to school.

Saturday's events to honor Naef are scheduled for 9 a.m. at , 39 Empty Saddle Road in Rolling Hills Estates, and will feature various games on horseback, including pole bending and barrel racing. The Boy Scouts will serve breakfast 7-10 a.m.

The event is free to watch and $50 to compete. All proceeds will benefit the Peppertree Foundation and Ride to Fly, Naef's favorite charity.
