Santa Claus to Visit RPV, RHE, Westfield

Santa Claus is coming to the Palos Verdes Peninsula!

Santa Claus, with a little help from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station, will visit neighborhoods in Rancho Palos Verdes, Lomita, Rolling Hills Estates and unincorporated areas of the Palos Verdes Peninsula throughout the month.

Santa began his journey in the La Rambla area of San Pedro on Sunday, and after a break, he'll start off in RPV at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The sleigh will also be in various areas of RPV on Thursday, Sunday and Dec. 20-22. Santa will stop in Westfield and one area of Rolling Hills Estates on Dec. 18.

A complete schedule is available online.

"This special visit is sponsored by and coordinated through the efforts of the personnel at the Lomita Sheriff Station," according to a news release from the department. "Children of all ages are encouraged to come out, chat with Santa, and get a candy cane."

A sheriff's volunteer will precede the sleigh to let people know Santa's on his way about 10 minutes before his scheduled arrival.

Santa will be escorted by a sheriff's patrol car, and designated stopping points will be marked with "Santa Stops Here" signs and cones. People should gather at the cones before Santa arrives.

"If any of the nights are rained out, they may be rescheduled for a Monday or Tuesday night," according to the department. "Rain cancelations will be posted on Facebook and sent out via Nixle notifications."
