Southeast Japanese School and Community Center Festival

This year on Saturday July 27 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday
July 28 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. the Southeast Japanese School and Community
Center located at 14615 Gridley Road, in Norwalk will celebrate the 50th
anniversary of its Festival.  The
festival  features the best of Japanese
culture including dramatic Taiko demonstrations (traditional synchronized drumming),
, Martial arts demonstrations (including Kendo (Japanese Fencing), Judo (wrestling)
and Karate), Karaoke, Ondo (folk dancing) and special guest Minyo fusion singer  Marissa Kosuji will perform her hits.  Minyo fusion music is a unique combination of
traditional Japanese folk music infused with Western rock, R&B, and Jazz
traditions  It is an rare experience in
LA and not to be missed.   In addition, guest performers U Mele Hana will
perform on the hula and Ukelele.
