Community Corner

Join us for Coastal Cleanup Day at Abalone Cove Beach!

Coastal Cleanup Day is an opportunity for the whole community to pitch in and clean its beaches. Come join your friends and neighbors at Abalone Cove Beach and help accomplish something on behalf of our environment.

This year’s event is sponsored by Los Serenos de Point Vicente and City of Rancho Palos Verdes, with support from the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. The cleanup will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Abalone Cove Shoreline Park, located at 5970 Palos Verdes Drive South, across the street from the Wayfarer’s Chapel.  The parking lot will open at 8:30 a.m. and parking is free if you arrive before 9:30 a.m.

Wear sturdy shoes for walking on cobblestones, and bring sunscreen, gloves, and a hat.  Plastic bags will be provided to hold the trash and recyclables.  Please note that all participants (and parents of minors) will be required to sign a liability waiver. You may download the waiver from the link below and bring it with you, or sign one at the event.
