Torrance Marriott South Bay Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Torrance Marriott South Bay will ring in the  season with its annual tree-lighting ceremony on Monday, November 26th at 5 p.m.
 
According to general manager Pam Ryan, the Mayor of Torrance, Frank Scotto, as well as City Council representatives will be on hand for the tree-lighting ceremony which will take place in the hotel's new Serenity Gardens.  The Rivera Elementary School choir (featuring approximately 150 children) will also be in attendance to serenade celebrants with holiday carols.  This is the fifth year that the hotel will be hosting the tree lighting, however Ms. Ryan indicates that in honor of the new location (it previously took place in the Zen Garden), this year's tree will be a huge living coral tree decked out with lights and holiday finery.
 
The tree-lighting ceremony is completely free of charge and open to anyone to attend.  Complimentary parking is available for all and warm complimentary holiday beverages will be served.  As part of these festivities, the Torrance Marriott South Bay has partnered with the Torrance fire and police departments for their annual Toys For Tots drive and is asking attendees to bring a new, unwrapped toy if they are able.
 
This is just one in a series of events that the Torrance Marriott South Bay hosts for the community.  The property will also partner with American Honda to invite homeless and needy families and individuals into the ballroom for a complimentary meal on the day after Christmas (approximately 1,200 people are served each year).  Additionally, the hotel is partnering with Carr Elementary to provide a dozen needy families with turkeys.
