Market of Hope
On Saturday, November 10, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Rolling Hills Covenant Church (RHCC) invites the community to shop at their annual Market of Hope. The Market of Hope is a festive gift-giving event which RHCC hosts every year during the holiday season to support families and children throughout the world who are struggling for survival. There will be activities for children such as crafts, face painting, animal balloons, and an opportunity to collect passport stamps of different countries represented. A free community lunch courtesy of Pete’s Tacos will be provided between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to all shoppers.
The Market of Hope will sell 48 life-changing gifts such as school supplies and uniforms for orphans, job training programs to help break the cycle of poverty, food and goats for families overseas, and hygiene kits for the homeless here in the U.S. Items will be sold in a range of prices, e.g. for the cost of two movie tickets, you can feed one child three nourishing meals a day for one month in Tibet.
This year’s Market of Hope will feature gifts for those hit the hardest by the triple disaster of the earthquake, tsunami, and the nuclear crisis in Japan. Gifts include housekeeping supplies for someone who lost everything in the tsunami, micro enterprise funds to establish a sustainable business to feed a family and improve their quality of life, and spiritual gifts to train pastors in Japan to equip them for disaster relief, evangelism, discipleship and church multiplication.

All of the items on the shopping list have been identified through missionaries and mission organizations working in impoverished countries all over the world. Every gift comes with a card describing the specific gift purchased for someone in need.

Rolling Hills Covenant Church is dedicated to “know Jesus intimately and to share His love and truth passionately.” The church offers eight worship services each weekend, and full children’s programs are provided.
