Blue Whales Spotted Sunday in SoCal

Whales are spotted over the weekend near Huntington Beach.

A pair of blue whales surprised onlookers aboard the Christopher out of Harbor Breeze Cruises Sunday with a showing near Huntington Beach, Patch fishing columnist Philip Friedman reported.

Whale watchers were making their way around oil rigs in the area when they spotted the creatures.

The blue whales are some of the first to appear in Southern California this year, according to Friedman's report.
