Weekend Events Roundup: Think Spring

Earth Day events and kite flying—Spring is in the air! We've got the best bets for your Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Where/When: Avenue C and Esplanade, Redondo Beach; April 23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Let's go fly a kite! This event is fun for the whole family. There will be games, a picnic and, of course, lots of kite flying.

"BAG IT" SCREENING

Where/When: Manhattan Beach City Hall, 1400 Highland Ave., Manhattan Beach; April 22, 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Why Go: It's a perfect time to learn about reducing plastic pollution and ways to protect the environment with a free screening of this documentary.

SANDPIPER FASHION SHOW 

Where/When: Hermosa Beach Community Center, 710 Pier Ave., Hermosa Beach; April 22. 6-8:30 p.m.

Why Go: Proceeds from the fashion show (featuring the school's junior and senior students) benefit Sandpiper local charities.

MARCHFOURTH MARCHING BAND 

Where/When: Saint Rocke, 142 Pacific Coast Hwy., Hermosa Beach; April 23, 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: This isn't your high school's marching band! MarchFourth performances include stilt-walkers, dancing girls, clown antics and acrobatics. 21+.

FLAMENCO NIGHT 

Where/When: Lido di Manhattan, 1550 Rosecrans Ave., Manhattan Beach; April 24, 6:30-9 p.m.

Why Go: End the weekend with an exciting flamenco show and dinner.
