Tsunami Advisory Canceled, Residents Should Still Use Caution

The National Weather Service cautions beachgoers of strong currents at marinas and shorelines.

The National Weather Service canceled the tsunami advisory for the coastal areas of central and southern California this morning.

Though the advisory has been lifted, the Weather Service still recommended residents use caution near harbors and at beaches.

It warned of "abrupt tidal surges" within harbors today, in addition to amplified currents, which it said are difficult to predict, at marinas and beaches.
