Toy Poodles, Terriers and More up for Adoption

Dogs of all sizes and ages are looking for new homes.

This week there are lots of adoptable dogs to choose from. Check out the article's photo gallery for pictures of available dogs. All are current on vaccines and have had their rabies shots. They are also de-wormed and micro-chipped.

You can see all of the adoptable dogs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at Petco, 852 N. Western Ave., in San Pedro.

Romeo

Age: 5 years old

Sex: Male

Breed: Long-Haired Chihuahua

Personality: Romeo is a mellow guy and a real cuddler. Unlike many small dogs, he is not a yapper, which makes him even more of a pleasure to be around.

Background: Romeo was found wandering Hawthorne Boulevard in Palos Verdes.

Tank

Age: 4-5 years old

Sex: Male

Breed: Boston Terrier

Personality: Tank is very energetic and loving, however, he does have a tendency to get nervous. He would do best in a very calm home.

Background: Tank was separated unexpectedly from his family when they lost their home.

Liza

Age: 9-10 years old

Sex: Female

Breed: Toy Poodle 

Personality: Liza loves to be carried everywhere and cuddled. She gets along great with cats and is used to a lot of company from four-legged friends. She would do well with a couple who is retired or works from home.

Rocco

Age: 4 years old

Sex: Male

Breed: Bichon Frise mix  

Personality: Rocco is excitable and fun loving. He gets along with everyone and he absolutely loves to play. He’s great on the leash and is currently going through further obedience training.

Tootsie

Age: 1-2 years old

Sex: Female

Breed: Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix

Personality: Tootsie is as sweet as they come and loves everyone she meets.Tootsie loves people and children of all ages, but she is not a big fan of cats or small dogs. Although she is a considered a dominant female, she is extremely obedient and not aggressive in the least.

Ginger

Age: 12 years old

Sex: Female

Breed: Shepherd mix   

Personality: Although she is a senior, Ginger is a lively girl who loves love! She is all about snuggling and finding the right person to love her back.

Background: Ginger was rescued from a local pound.

Iris

Age: 5 months old

Sex: Female

Breed: Shepherd mix

Personality: Iris is an adorable puppy who underestimates her own size. Her tail is nonstop and she is a total kisser. She has a very sweet disposition and is great with other dogs.

Background: Iris was rescued from a local pound.

Darla

Age: 5 months

Sex: Female

Breed: Dachshund/Chihuahua mix

Personality: Darla loves to play. She is extremely happy and healthy.

Background: Darla and her siblings, Alfalfa and Spanky, were all rescued after being thrown in a dumpster. She is too young to be spayed, but she is currently on a vaccination schedule.

Harold

Age: 3 years old

Sex: Male

Breed: Spaniel/Papillon mix

Personality: Harold is a hilarious little guy who wants nothing more than a little love and a new companion. He gets along great with kids and other dogs. His extremely soft coat is all black and great for petting, which is Howard’s favorite.

Background: Howard was surrendered to a high kill shelter.

Become a foster family

Doggies 911/Paws with Needs is looking for foster homes for dogs. The organization will provide training, transport and necessary supplies, all you have to provide is a temporary home. In order to become a foster, fill out an application here and make a note that it is for foster care.
