These Adoptable Dogs Come in All Shapes and Sizes

All dogs are current on all vaccines, rabies shots, and fecal tests. They are de-wormed, and micro-chipped! Descriptions of the dogs are listed by order of appearance in the photo gallery.

You can see all the adoptable dogs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at Petco, 852 N. Western Ave. in San Pedro.

The rescue organization Doggies 911/Paws With Needs is looking for foster homes. The more foster homes they have, the more lovable dogs they will be able to save. Doggies 911/Paws with Needs will provide training, transport and necessary supplies. All you have to provide is a temporary home. In order to become a foster, you need to fill out an application and make a note that it is for foster care.

Adoption update: This weekend Chauncey found a home! Congratulations to lucky new owner Connie Holguin from Pasadena. Holguin came to the South Bay and returned home with an adorable new addition to the family!

Tootsie

Age: 1-2 years old

Sex: Female

Breed: Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix

Personality: Tootsie is as sweet as they come. Tootsie loves people and children of all ages, but she is not a big fan of cats or small dogs. Although she is a considered a dominant female, she is extremely obedient and not aggressive in the least.

Background: Tootsie was abandoned at a shelter.

Anita

Age: 1-2 years old

Sex: Female

Breed: Pure Bred Shepherd

Personality: Anita is very good with kids and adults. She is also obedience trained, which makes her a calm, easy-to-handle pet. Anita is extremely friendly and extremely adorable.

Background: Anita was found on the streets of L.A. wandering around wounded after being hit by a car. She was rescued and later had surgery on her hind leg.

Ginger

Age: 12 years old

Sex: Female

Breed: Shepherd mix  

Personality: Although she is a senior, Ginger is a lively girl who loves love! She is all about snuggling and finding the right person to love her back.

Background: Ginger was rescued from a local pound.

Roscoe

Age: 3 years old

Sex: Male

Breed: Shepherd/Labrador mix  

Personality: Roscoe is the perfect dog. He is obedient, calm and easy to love.

Background: Roscoe’s family wanted to keep him, but unfortunately, they lost their home and were unable to house him any longer. They hope another family can provide Roscoe with the same love they provided for the first three years of his life.

Carly

Age: 2-3 years old

Sex: Female

Breed: Chihuahua mix

Personality: Carly is an adorable girl who is ready for love. She loves taking rides in the car and doesn’t bolt.

Background: Carly was found running the streets of South Central. She was hit by a car and had a minor injury, but is doing well now and is ready for a new home.

Iris

Age: 5 months old

Sex: Female

Breed: Shepherd mix 

Personality: Iris is an adorable puppy that underestimates her own size. Her tail wags nonstop and she is a total kisser. She has a very sweet disposition and is great with other dogs.

Background: Iris was rescued from a local pound.

Darla

Age: 5 months

Sex: Female

Breed: Dachshund/Chihuahua mix

Personality: Darla loves to play and follow her brother Spanky around. She is extremely happy and healthy and covers volunteers with kisses at every opportunity.

Background: Darla and her siblings, Alfalfa and Spanky were all rescued after being thrown in a dumpster. She is too young to be spayed, but she is currently on a vaccination schedule.

Brody

Age: 1-2 years old

Sex: Male

Breed: Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix

Personality: Brody is a very active, happy-go-lucky dog that is quite gentle with other puppies.

Background: Brody was in a shelter about to be put down when he was rescued.
