Sports Bar for a Sports Weekend

NELSON'S -- With NBA All-Star Weekend nearly upon us, a sports bar might be just what you need. Nelson's at fits nicely, and it's got a few extras.

A full bar with specialty cocktails and micro brews? Check. Plasma TVs strategically placed so you never miss a dunk? Check. Pulled pork sliders, shrimp tacos and other munchies? Check. A view of gorgeous sunsets from a heated patio? Check. At a sports bar? Check.

Nelson's does not take reservations, and they do get busy around sunset. The bar and restaurant are perched above the sea with a view of Catalina and the lighthouse. Enjoy reasonably priced drinks, appetizers, meals, and desserts of the quality you'd expect at Terranea.

Go for the game, the views, or the food — it doen't matter. Nelson's is our choice this week. (Aren't you glad we didn't say the place is a slam-dunk?)
