Rain Causes Dozens of Traffic Accidents
Morning rain causes dozens of accidents on L.A. freeways.
Dozens of traffic accidents were reported during the rainy morning commute today on Los Angeles area freeways, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The CHP logged 115 crashes between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m., compared with 55 during the same time period a week ago, when it did not rain, said CHP Officer Ed Jacobs.
In one of the accidents this morning, a big rig jackknifed about 6:20 a.m., causing the closure of the transition road from the eastbound Ventura (134) Freeway to the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Pasadena. The roadway was reopened at 11:36 a.m., the CHP reported.
