Peninsula High to Raise Money for Quake Victims

Students will help the Japan Business Association of Southern California collect money.

Peninsula High School students will work with the Japan Business Association of Southern California to raise money for victims of last week's earthquake and subsequent tsunami in Japan.

Peninsula High's Japanese National Honor Society will collect donations, Peninsula Principal Mitzi Cress said. She planned to talk more with students Tuesday about raising money for relief efforts.

"Working with our friends at JBA gives our support a personal touch," Peninsula Principal Mitzi Cress said. "Through the years, they have been so supportive of our entire school district, now we can show them the support they have shown us."

The JBA published a letter requesting donations for victim support and rebuilding of impacted areas in the country. It will accept donations until April 30.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with friends and families in Japan as they fight to put their lives back together," Cress said.
