Palos Verdes to Remember 9/11

The City of Palos Verdes Estates and Peninsula High School will host events to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the September attacks.

Residents on the Peninsula will come together to remember the events of 9/11 in the coming days.

The City of Palos Verdes Estates will host tree planting and flag ceremonies on Sunday to celebrate Patriot Day and commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The ceremonies are scheduled to begin at noon in the Memorial Garden, at Palos Verdes Drive West across from City Hall.

will host an "All-American BBQ" on Monday. The community's local first responders will have lunch at the school while students perform patriotic songs.

"Peninsula High School gratefully acknowledges our first responders and those across our nation who do their best to keep us safe each and every day," school officials said in a statement.
