Palos Verdes Beaches Hold On to Healthy Rankings

Beaches in Palos Verdes are graded by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

Palos Verdes beaches received all "A" marks in the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health's most recent round of grading.

The 30-day grades, released July 2, are a reflection of water quality samples taken over the past month. Beaches graded "C" or below are considered too unhealthy to be used by beachgoers.

Arroyo Circle extended, Malaga Cove, Bluff Cove, Long Point, Abalone Cove and Portuguese Bend all earned "A" grades.

Malibu Pier, 50 yards east of Malibu Pier, Will Rogers State Beach; Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro; Avalon Beach, 50 feet west of the Green Pleasure Pier; Avalon Beach east of the Casino Arch at the steps; and Avalon Beach, 100 feet west of the Green Pleasure Pier, were the only beaches to earn "F" grades.
