New Year's Day Closures in Palos Verdes

Government offices, courts, schools, libraries, banks and post offices will be closed Tuesday in observance of New Year's Day.

There will be no trash collection in Rolling Hills Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes Estates and unincorporated county areas, according to Waste Management and Athens Services. Trash collection will be delayed one day in Rolling Hills Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes and unincorporated county areas.

Metro buses will operate on a Sunday schedule, but all rail lines and the Metro Orange Line will operate around the clock to accommodate people going to the Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl football game.

Specific schedules for bus lines can be found on Metro's website at www.metro.net. Normal operations will resume Wednesday.
