Memorial Set for Steve Bowen
PV Bicycle Center owner Steve Bowen died of natural causes while cycling in Malibu on Dec. 23.
A memorial service for Steve Bowen, the owner of the PV Bicycle Center who died of natural causes while cycling in Malibu on Dec. 23, has been scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, according to a notice posted on the PV Bicycle Center Facebook page.
News of his death hit the local cycling community hard. Dozens of people posted their memories of Bowen on Facebook after hearing of his passing, and more than 300 cyclists attended a memorial ride for him at the beginning of January, according to the Easy Reader.
"Steve did more than sell bikes," wrote attorney and friend Seth Davis in a blog post on his website. "He sold people on the importance and enjoyment of biking."
