High Winds Expected to Hit Again Today

The National Weather Service predicts winds could reach 60 miles per hour in some areas on Monday.

Though Santa Ana winds recently calmed in some areas of Southern California, forecasters expect a strong showing again today with speeds in some areas predicted to surpass 60 miles per hour.

Damaging winds are expected in the mountains of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties. Coastal and valley areas could be exposed to gusts up to 50 mph, the NWS said in a wind advisory today.

The NWS forecast winds would decrease later this afternoon and evening, but could pick up again tonight and into Tuesday morning. It also predicted weaker wind speeds on Tuesday.
