Council to Vote on Claim Made by Off-Roading Accident Victim
Elliot Coy is seeking compensation for medical treatment.
The city council tonight will vote on whether to reject a claim made by Rancho Palos Verdes resident Elliot Coy, who was severely injured in an off-road accident on a Palos Verdes Estates fire road in Lunada Canyon.
The single vehicle accident, which happened May 23 when the SUV Coy was riding in flipped over, injured two people but not the driver. Coy’s claim, which can be viewed on tonight’s agenda, says the city maintained an unsafe roadway.
The claim does seek a specific amount of money. City staff is recommending that the city council reject the claim.
