Boat Found Capsized Near PV; Search for Occupants Launched

The search is on for occupants of a boat found capsized early this morning near Palos Verdes Estates, according to U.S. Coast Guard officials.

The panga—a small vessel used by commercial fishermen—was found near Bluff Cove about 6:45 a.m.

A number of gas cans were also found nearby.

After Baywatch Cabrillo and the notified the Coast Guard, a 45-foot Response Boat and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter were used to search the waters, according to a Coast Guard statement.

Also involved in the search efforts are the U.S. Border Patrol, Los Angeles County Fire Department, Palos Verdes Estates Police Department, and Baywatch Cabrillo.
