SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PRINTMAKING EXHIBITION

Where/When: Palos Verdes Art Center & Community School of Art, 5504 Crestridge Road., Rancho Palos Verdes, Mon.-Sat., 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Because you’ve got a budding artist in the family.

SPAMALOT

Where/When: Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, 18125 Bloomfield Ave., Cerritos, March 4, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Something for the older kids, Spamalot is a great way to introduce them to the quirky humor of Monty Python.

WHALE OF A DAY FESTIVAL 

Where/When: Point Vincente Interpretive Center, 31501 Palos Verdes Dr. W., Rancho Palos Verdes, March 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: In celebration of the Grey Whale migration, the annual festival includes crafts, face-painting, games, live music and animals.

 MONTHLY BIRD WALK 

Where/When: George F. Canyon Nature Center and Trail, 27305 Palos Verdes Dr. E., Rolling Hills Estates, March 5, 9 a.m.

Why Go: The Nature Trail is home to dozens of species of birds — see how many you can spot!

PENINSULA TEEN ACTIVITY COUNCIL MEETING

Where/When: Peninsula Center Library, 701 Silver Spur Road, Rolling Hills Estates, March 8, 4-5 p.m.

Why Go: Get your teenager involved in this volunteer youth group that organizes programs such as Teen Read Week.
