Blog: What's Up With Rugby?

Season-ending rugby results.

PV Rugby Plays strong in the So. Cal Championship!!!

The Play-off Finals, against Torry Pines, last weekend in Malaga Cove was a thrilling match to watch. Our PV boys played their hearts out while bringing their "A-game" to the table. They were up against what Coach Jeremy Wilkinson calls "one of the best JV Teams I have ever seen play U.S. High School JV Rugby."

This Torrey Pines Rugby Team, they were a scoring machine, and they clearly didn't just begin playing rugby together a few years ago.

During the season Torrey Pines had gone 8-0, scoring 448 points to just 67 against them....pretty amazing stats.

Our PV Rugby Team scored 24 points against them on Saturday, that is about 1/3 of the points their rivals scored all year!!! Pretty good numbers for a young, mostly freshman, Palos Verdes team when you look at it that way.

Looking to the Future:

As interest and participation grows on the hill for this fast and thrilling sport that our our teens love to play...we will one day be a force to be reckoned with amongst these seasoned teams. By the results of last weekend we are almost there already.

Cooach Jeremy on the Playoffs, "I was really proud of our boys and PV established our reputation as a serious Rugby force in the PREMIER ONE (Gold) division in Southern California Rugby."
