What's on in Rugby?

Peninsula Youth Sports Update: Rugby is rockin' the Hill.

From Coach Jeremy:

Rugby is the fastest growing sport in the USA and we anticipate over 5,000 youth Rugby players participating in the 2012/2013 season in Southern California alone from the age of 7 years up to 18. Last HS season we had 23 HS Varsity teams in the Southern California League and we anticipate 30 plus HS Varsity teams this year.

The USA is the most successful nation in Olympic Rugby tournaments and the USA won Gold in 1920 and 1924 and remain as the reigning Olympic champions (as Rugby was dropped as an Olympic Sport in 1924).

Due to popular demand, Rugby is being reintroduced to the Olympics in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

PV Rugby was formed in 2010 as a Combined HS Club team. More than 100 kids have already gone through our program in 3 years.  We focus on the integration of high standards in education, sport and personal ethics for High School students and help in developing their college options.
