Woelfel Superior Healthcare acknowledges Dr. John O’Neil Simmonds, our practice’s Medical Director. Dr. Simmonds oversees our medical and treatment division, as well as expand the practice’s commitment to the orthopedic patients in the South Bay community. Like Dr. Woelfel, Dr. Simmonds believes in the healing properties of non-surgical therapies like physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP).

He provides the highest standards of medical care and manages common and complex orthopedic conditions through non-surgical methods whenever possible. This includes PRP treatments, physical medicine, physical therapy, rehabilitative therapy, nutritional counseling, and sports medicine.

Says,Dr. Woelfel “Dr. Simmonds has the medical know how, and patient management skills needed to make an impact in the South Bay Community—to reach out specifically to the hard working people who play hard on the weekends and are athletic, to work in the sports management niche, and to maintain the quality of community care that Superior Healthcare is known for. We are extremely fortunate to have him on our team.”

Dr. Simmonds concurs, stating, “I’m trained as an orthopedic surgeon. But like Dr. Woelfel, if I can avoid surgery, I will. Patient education and alternatives to surgical intervention like physical therapy, chiropractic, and PRP are options I firmly believe in because they can decrease pain and speed up the healing process.”
