Wiggly Worms Handwriting Camp Summer 2014

Please join us for a fun, multi-sensory handwriting camp for children ages 3-7 at Hesse Park!  Children will be placed in two groups based on their writing skills.  Camps run from June 10 through July 17 from 2:00-3:30 pm.  Research supports the active teaching of handwriting.  This camp will be insect themed and is taught by pediatric occupational therapist, Kara Murphy, and experienced master teacher, Margarita Pantev.

Recent findings demonstrate that writing by hand improves creative writing skills and fine motor skills. In fact, elementary students have been found to write more and faster by hand than when keyboarding. And with the adoption of the Common Core State Standards, the emphasis and expectations placed on classroom note-taking and expository writing in grades K–5 are greater than ever. 12 session camp for $495 includes handwriting kit and administration of the screener for handwriting proficiency.  Please call (310) 863-8264 for more info.
