Advancements in Knee Pain Treatments

We are all blessed to live in the beautiful South Bay of Los Angeles. Our area has a great culture of healthy living people. Sometimes, a nuisance like knee pain can keep one from being as physically active as possible. You might try over the counter medications, physical therapy, home remedies, etc. to resolve the problem. But what next if those are not successful?

The great news is there is hope. We have seen many people get amazing results with a NEW knee pain relief system similar to what we have implemented into our clinic. It consists of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) joint injections with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments in between. HA is a natural substance already found in your joint, so you are just adding more to help lubricate the joint and add some more cushion to decrease the pain. PRP is where your own blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma from the blood. The plasma carries platelets which have the body's natural healing capabilities to regenerate the joint. PRP is known as regenerative medicine and has great recognition in wound care. The PRP regenerates skin and other soft tissue found with wound care patients and diabetic ulcers. Because of the astonishing results, orthopedists have begun using PRP for joints and other musculoskeletal problems. Most people have heard about PRP when it comes to professional athletes. It has been known that Tiger Woods and Kobe Bryant have received PRP therapy.

We believe the best prognosis for the patient is to combine the PRP therapy with HA, physical therapy exercises, and acupuncture. The theory is to lubricate and regenerate the joint, then restore normal motion and stabilize it with strengthening and stretching. Acupuncture brings new blood flow into the area to also help promote the healing process. If you or a loved one has a knee problem, and other treatments have failed, try locating a facility that offers all of the above services in one treatment package to get you the results you need. Good luck on your journey in being healthy!
