Rolling Hills Estate Accountant's License Suspended

Chih-Pin Cheng reportedly copied client information just before leaving one job and took it to another.

The California Board of Accountancy has suspended the license of Rolling Hills Estates accountant Chih-Pin Cheng for 90 days.

It was alleged that on or about Jan. 6, 2012, Cheng committed embezzlement and theft when, just before her last day of employment with an accountancy firm, Cheng used four flash drives to copy client lists, client data and other proprietary information, which she took to the new accountancy firm, according to a state website.

State officials were going to revoke her license altogether but reached a settlement, according to the board.
