Norris Appoints New Managing Director

Robin Franko of Rolling Hills Estates will oversee operating, development, financial and administrative functions at the Norris Center for the Performing Arts.

The Norris Center for the Performing Arts in Rolling Hills Estates has a new managing director, the organization announced Thursday in a news release.

Robin Franko, a resident of Rolling Hills Estates, formally assumed the post on Monday. Previously, she served as the executive director of Temple Menorah in Redondo Beach.

"I am honored to be joining the Norris Center for the Performing Arts as the new managing director," Franko said in a statement. "As a lifelong Palos Verdes resident, I have long been impressed by the quality of the Center’s professional performances, vibrant theatre education programs and first-class facilities. I am excited to be a part of continuing this amazing legacy, and look forward to leading the organization into the future."

Franko led the expansion of Temple Menorah and its programs. As managing director of the 30-year-old Norris Center, Franko will oversee the organization's operating, development, financial and administrative functions.

"We are thrilled to welcome Robin Franko to the Norris Center," said Dave Diestel, the chairman of the board of trustees for the Norris Center. "Robin is a dynamic leader, and with her strong record of accomplishment and exemplary management skills, we are confident that she will take the Center to even greater levels of excellence."

Former Norris executive director James Gruessing will continue as artistic director in an expanded role as a producer and director, according to the news release.
