Gas Prices Hold Steady at Local Stations

The cost per gallon of regular gasoline remained close to $3.75 in the past week.

Gas prices didn't change much in the past week, with local stations staying above $3.75 a gallon, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California’s Weekend Gas Watch.

The Weekend Gas Watch monitors the average price of gasoline.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $3.816 per gallon, which is three-tenths of one penny lower than last week, two cents higher than last month, and 70 cents higher than last year.

In San Diego, the price is $3.816, a decrease of seven-tenths of a cent from last week, four cents above last month, and 68 cents higher than last year.

On the Central Coast, the average price is $3.863, up seven-tenths of a cent from last week, three cents higher than a month ago, and 68 cents above last year.

In the Inland Empire, the average per gallon price is $3.793, unchanged from last week, three cents higher than last month, and 69 cents more than last year.

“Southern California gas prices have averaged above $3.75 a gallon since the beginning of March,” said Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring. “Those taking a road trip to other parts of the country won’t find much relief there, either. No state except Arizona has gas price averages below $3.50 a gallon.”
