Gas Prices Creeping Back Up

We've got the carmageddon gas prices.

After regular declines of late, gas prices in most areas in the region this past week began to rise for the first time in two months, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California’s Weekend Gas Watch.

The average price of self-serve regular gas in the Los Angeles-Long Beach are is $3.80 per gallon, which is 1.7 cents higher than last week, 16 cents lower than last month, and 69 cents more than last year.  In the Inland Empire, the average price is $3.77, which is 1.6 cents more than last week, 15 cents lower than last month, and 67 cents higher than last year. In Orange County, the average price per gallon is $3.78, a 2.7-cent uptick from one week ago, 13.1 cents less than a month ago, and 67.5 cents more than a year ago

“Last week’s higher oil and wholesale gasoline prices related to the weaker dollar had a quick impact at the pump for local drivers,” said Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring.  “Oil is now trading lower than $100 a barrel again, so it remains to be seen whether prices will continue to rise.”
