Gas Prices Could Drop Below $3.50, Says AAA

The average price of a gallon of regular self-serve gasoline in Los Angeles County is $3.648

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County decreased Friday for the ninth consecutive day, dropping nine-tenths of a cent to $3.648.

The average price has decreased 5 cents over the past nine days, including eight-tenths of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 4.2 cents less than one week ago and 8.1 cents lower than one year ago but two-tenths of a cent more than one month ago.

"Los Angeles wholesale prices have now dipped below even the lowest levels of 2013, so if this trend holds, we should continue to see more gas stations selling regular unleaded for less than $3.50 an gallon," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
