Gas Prices Continue to Drop

Prices fall for the second straight week.

The cost of gas has dropped to its lowest point since February when this year’s run-up in gas prices began.

It’s the second week that local gas prices dropped after remaining stagnant for a month.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $3.705 per gallon, which is five cents lower than last week, 11 cents lower than last month, and 57 cents higher than last year.

In San Diego, the price is $3.719, a decrease of 4.9 cents from last week, nine cents below last month, and 58 cents higher than last year

In the Inland Empire, the average per gallon price is $3.691, down 4.6 cents from last week, ten cents lower than last month, and 57 cents more than last year.

In Orange County, the average cost of a gallon of gas dropped 4.9 cents this week to $3.691

“As the cheaper crude oil makes its way through the refining process and into gas stations, we’re continuing to see pump prices drop,” said Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring. “Southern California gas prices haven’t been this low since February of this year.”   

The stations currently selling the cheapest gas in the Palos Verdes area are listed below. Local prices are according to GasBuddy.com and reflect prices reported within the last 24 hours.

  • Premium: $3.85

  • Regular: $3.69 (Add 10 cents for credit card)
  • Premium: $3.89 (Add 10 cents for credit card)
