Forbes: Terranea Part of New Resort Trend

Seaside Luxe is hoping to make retail one of the many attractions to the Rancho Palos Verdes resort.

A Los Angeles-based company is hoping to make and others like it a destination for a high-end retail shopping experience.

Forbes.com reports that Seaside Luxe is working to make the retail offerings at five-star resorts just as profitable as the spas and restaurants.

Terranea collaborated with Seaside Luxe to open Marea in May 2011. A high-end fashion boutique, Marea is a 3,000 square-foot space that "pays homage to the property’s Mediterranean and ocean influences," according to the resort's website.

The boutique is celebrating its first anniversary this weekend.
