Cheapest Gas in Town

Know where to save money at the pump.

The average gas price in Southern California was up 3.1 cents this week, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California’s Weekend Gas Watch

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Long Beach-Los Angeles region is $3.971 per gallon, according to the Automobile Club. 

That’s 47 cents higher than last month and 90 cents higher than one year ago.

It's slightly higher in San Diego, where the price is $3.981, but it's a bit cheaper in the Inland Empire, at $3.946, and Orange County, at $3.995. On the Central Coast, the average price is $4.02.

According to MapQuest, the lowest price for gas in the U.S. is $2.91, in Malvern, Ark., and the highest is here in California—$5.29 in Death Valley.
