Adoptable Dogs From Doggies 911/Paws With Needs

If you're in the market for a new pet, adopt one of these sweet dogs. Nearly 15 are available.

All dogs from Doggies 911/Paws with Needs are neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, and micro-chipped. If you would like to meet these dogs, you can find them at the Petco in the Peninsula Center 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday.

Marty: A spunky little Havanese mix, who likes to take charge during walks by grabbing his leash and leading you. He’s very friendly with other dogs, but has a little difficulty with small children. A calm household would suit Marty best, so if you’re retired or your kids have left the nest, then he is the perfect pet for you.

Buddy: New to the bunch, Buddy is a male Shih-Poo, or a Shih Tzu/Poodle mix. He was found running around on the street and is still a little shaken. Buddy just needs a human buddy and a lot of love.

Nash: A 1-year-old male Chihuahua-Terrier mix. Nash is very sweet and calm and  quietly approached me when it came time for his photo shoot. People and dog-friendly, Nash will fit in just about any household.

Francesca: A beautiful female 1-year-old Dutch Shepherd. She is leash-trained, very friendly with people and other dogs, and she even tolerates cats. Francesca covered me in kisses when I approached her and attempted to fit into my lap. She was unsuccessful, but I was touched by the effort.

Tootsie: A 1-2-year-old, female Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix. Tootsie loves everyone and shows her love by giving you a hug as a greeting. She is a very healthy dog with tons of energy. Since her rescue, Tootsie is the favorite of everyone she meets. She’s great with kids and would make a wonderful addition to any family.

Francis: The 11-month-old female Flat Coat Retriever/Lab mix is one of the most adorable, sweet and friendly pups around. She loves attention and prances around as if she is in a puppy fashion show. Great things come in small packages and Francis is no exception.

Valentine: A 1-year-old female Beagle-Parson Russell terrier that was rescued from  the Carson Shelter. Valentine was not having any luck at the shelter because she had mange. The wonderful folks at Paws with Needs are currently treating her and she is looking better every day. Being super sweet is her nature and the inspiration for her name, Valentine.

The Little Rascal Pups: Spanky, Darla and Alfalfa are all part of the same litter and are approximately three months old. The adorable Dachshund/Chihuahua trio was abandoned and all need a home. They are extremely friendly, as evidenced by the way they all tripped over each other while running to greet me.

Bonez:  A 1-2-year-old male Chihuahua mix. Bonez was completely emaciated when Paws with Needs rescued him from the Downey Shelter. Now that he has been nursed back to health and has put some meat on his bones, he's ready for a new home.

There are a few dogs from my last post still waiting for a home:

Wallus: This 5-7-year-old male Lab is still waiting for love. Wallus was chained to a tree and abandoned with two other dogs. He is very friendly and is up to date on his vaccinations.

Toby: The 10-year-old male Dachshund was rescued from an owner who overfed him. Because Toby has Cushing’s Disease, he is considered a ‘special needs’ dog. This means that his new owner must take care to put him on a healthy diet.

Pippie: The one and a half-year-old female Cattledog/Lab mix was rescued from the streets where she was almost killed by oncoming traffic. Pippie is incredibly smart, sweet and active. So if you love the outdoors and need a friend to enjoy the scenery with, Pippie is the dog for you.

Snickers: The 4-5-year-old female Cocker Spaniel is a lovable cuddle-bug, who wants nothing more than to curl up in your lap when you are on the couch. She loves people but doesn’t appreciate other dogs as much. So if you just want one adorable animal in your house, Snickers will fit in perfectly.

Mama Maria: The one and a half-year-old female Lab/Shepherd mix is a puppy that had a litter of puppies. While pregnant, she was left in the desert by her previous owners. She has been through a lot in her first year of life and deserves a good home.
