"Top Dogs" Dog Show

Calling All Dogs and Dog Lovers: ‘Top Dogs’ Show Is For You!

      Dogs and dog lovers of all ages, shapes and sizes are invited to attend the seventh annual ‘Top Dogs’ Dog Show on Saturday, June 11 from 10:00 a.m. to noon with registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce’s 24th Annual Palos Verdes Street Fair and Music Festival located on Norris Center Drive in Rolling Hills Estates.

      As usual, the Top Dogs Show promises to be great fun for kids and adults alike as dogs and their owners vie for trophies and blue ribbons in a myriad of categories.  The show will be held under a big tent in the lower Peninsula Center parking lot adjacent to the Spectrum Club.

       The show will begin with a therapy dog demonstration presented by Presenting Sponsor, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance.  Other generous sponsors include Critter Concepts and Bark Busters South Bay.

      The first competition category is the Costume Contest for Pooches and People with this year’s theme being “Superheroes.”  First, second and third place trophies will be awarded.  Next up are 10 Blue-Ribbon Contests with fun categories such as best kisser, fastest wagging tail, best singer, biggest dog, smallest dog, shortest tail, loudest barker, most wrinkled dog, longest-haired dog and rarest breed dog.  Blue ribbons will be awarded to each of the winners.

      The Best Trick Contest is always amazing and delightful to watch, and this year first, second and third place trophies will be awarded.  The final category is the Dog & Owner Look-Alike Contest, and the winner will walk away with a First Place trophy. The entry fee is $5 per dog, all-inclusive.  All dogs must be harnessed or leashed.  Pre-registration is available at www.pvstreetfair.com

      Returning again this year is Steve Coy of Clix Portrait Studios in Rolling Hills Estates who will be offering pet photography services.
